Using attribute blocks as a math manipulative

November 7, 2015

We busted out the attribute blocks today and the kids didn’t even realize we were doing another lesson.

I dumped the blocks and we went through what kinds they were, what the difference between them was ( shape, thickness, color & size).

Then we played games. I gave them 20 seconds to see how many small pieces they could get, then yellow ones etc. when we were done with 20 seconds we counted how much each person got.

We practiced counting, shapes, colors and widths. We also practiced examining, which is a skill we will be using the rest of our lives.

I love when learning can stay casual & fun!
